1996 Mazda Protege LX for sale with Clean Title ($500.00/ obo); owned and used daily since early 2015 (215,000 miles). If sold title will not be open. The front alignment is off (at least)/ Runs Rough-Closed Title if sold/ The factory installed cassette radio may work if repaired by a professional but transmitting since 2017/ Runs Rough/ Interior needs a vacuuming and wipe down/ The engine either consistently flashes or remains illuminated/ This vehicle barely passed Illinois emissions in 2018 and it is due for another by the end of June/ Runs Rough-Closed Title upon sale/ The battery and alternator was replaced in December 2019, the spare tire is new (replaced during the summer of 2019), the electric windows work, the headlamps-hi-beams, rear lights, flashers and illuminated radio clock function well/ 0 to 45 or 50 mph in 45 to 75 seconds from a stoplight/ Runs rough/ Over the past 8 months this car has occasionally faltered and quit approximately 20 times at stop lights when en route to a destination and while backing out from a parking space after standing and just ignited/ The heat works but not blasted despite the temperature since vapors rise from the front engine when at a stop light during the wet and colder months/ Runs Rough-Closed Title/ Several small dents on the front passenger side and at the rear passenger side part of the tire well is hanging by approximately an inch (rusted screw joint) from the body/ Some oil leakage (the oil has been changed at least once but mainly just added more oil from $4.00 WalMart and Speedy gas station brands/ Runs rough-Closed Title if sold/ New brake pads needed (fifth or fourth time since 2015)/ Rear struts replaced in the autumn of 2018 (difficult to find Mazda factory parts for a 1996 Protege model)/ Replaced the lost coolant cap with a find from a junkyard in Kane county 18 months ago/ Runs Rough-Closed Title upon sale transfer/ Windshield wipers operate/High-pitched squeal when starting on dry winter days or if not used for several weeks/ Mechanic stated that the pistons need to be rebored by a metal worker/ Other minor cosmetic issues/ Runs Rough and Closed Title sale.
