So my timing belt broke. Starter just turns over. Are these engines a zero tolerance? Meaning pushrods into pistons and damage? I dont want to drop money in the car if the engine is toast. Ill just part it if thats the case.

Hi, what mileage did belt break? Original belt? I know that it can depend on climate and usage and so on... I ran my original to 137,000... tensioner was getting noisy on cold start up... I found if I switched off engine and back on again it could disappear.. it always went away when engine was warm.

137000 is impressive! In Europe the change interval is 55k...
