I have a CX-9 Sport with 55k miles. We have owned for about 3000 miles now. It just started making a noise in the drivers side front(we think) that sounds like 2 rods hitting each other when you take off in drive. I had it up on the ramps today and don't see anything noticeably loose or that would make that kind of noise.

We have noticed a slight grabbing in the brakes and I will be replacing the front brakes this weekend. Not sure if it could be related?

While I was looking at this I decided to check fluids since oil change is near. I am unable to pull out the oil dipstick, it will turn in full circles, but will not pull out.

Any ideas on either of these?

Thank you,

Steve

Clunks, rattles and knocks are usually steering and suspension related. Broken spring, upper strut seat, ball joint, swaybar links, engine or transmission mounts and bushings wear out. The dipstick is the concerning one. I would start by checking for recalls and service bulletins to help narrow your search. Some things are ongoing concerns and safety related.
