The CX-5's slender hips betray the thin interior. It's a bit cramped, and while its front seats have a lot of support to provide long distance support, the back seats fall back in terms of head space and seat comfort. Three adults get along moderately, but not for long. Cargo space is good, but for the same price, the Honda CR-V offers more interior space. Mazda's high-spec CX-5 cabin, complete with Napa leather and wood trim, beats most of its competitors, even upscale ones. Crash scores are top-notch, and each CX-5 is equipped with all standard safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking. All features are powerful, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto landcruiser compatibility and a 10.3-inch infotainment screen.
