Has anyone put a 1600 turbo engine & gearbox along with the 4 wheel drive into an old 82 323 mazda body

Youd have one fast little car on your hands if you made that swap. I say go for it!!!

The basic drivetrain architecture is the same for all the early front-drive Mazda subcompacts (1982-1985 GLC, 1986-1989 323 and 1990-1994 323/Protege), so it sounds feasible. Check to make sure that the engine mounts are the same, however, and make sure that the car you're swapping into has a chassis that's in good shape (that is, no rust or accident damage).

If you're seriously thinking of creating such a beast, I'm sure we'd all like to see pictures... (w00t)

i know this posts age old but im from australia and yea we have heaps of B6T's floating round in BD 323's and same shaped ford lasers theres even one dude with a BPD in one of em :eek:
