Greetings All,

I've recently acquired an older 626 that needed the head rebuilt. Problem is, when we pulled the head off, we forgot to disconnect the vacuum lines from the Thermo Valve. Needless to say the nipples broke off, leaving the valve useless. So, can anyone tell me if there is a way to bypass the valve (i.e. is it absolutely necessary?), or if there's somewhere, other than a dealer, that I can get a new one? I would like to avoid getting a new one from a Mazda "stealership" so if you can direct me to somewhere else that I can get a new one, I'd appreciate it.

Thanx for your time,

Joe

Thanx for the timely reply. I considered trying to get a used Thermo Valve, but the parts guy at the Mazda dealership said that it is common for them to break, simply because they're made of plastic, and that dry-rots easily, especially on an older car. Anyway, I'll probably just have to shell out the $50 for a new one.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Joe
