Yes it can! The distributor shaft that the B2600i rotor slips on to is triangular shaped, and therefore, it can be installed in three different positions. After placing the engine at Top Dead Center for the #1 cylinder, install your new distributor by first lining up the marks on the distributor shaft shown below.......
Then insert the distributor into the cylinder head while keeping the marks on the distributor pointing straight up. Once fully seated into the cylinder head, rotate the distributor slightly to align the hold-down bolts in the center of the bolt slots on the distributor. Install at least one of the bolts to hold the distributor in this location.
Next, install the rotor in the position that has the metal end of the rotor pointing to the #1 spark plug lead terminal on the distributor cap.......that should be close to the nine o'clock position when looking straight at the distributor. Install the distributor cap, and see if you can get the engine to fire.......make sure you have the engine harness electrical connector plugged into the distributor!
