Hey all I'm new to the forum (just joined 5 mins ago)
Names Darren and I'm in Melbourne
Love the HC 929's :)
Anyone have any spare parts they want to sell or can direct me to?
I'm after a drivers side window regulator or a whole new door.

1990 HC series 2, just clicked over 78,000km. Yes, true and a superb car that only needs work due to its' low mileage (exhaust and battery). Tyres and timing belt were replaced just after purchase 3 years ago.

Mazda 92 HD WA

Howdy All -

I have just taken possession of my 5th 929, my second HD.

I have previously owned:

79 LA4
82 HB Coupe
85 HB Coupe
92 HD

and now..... 93 HD

My latest acquisition cost me $1000 and has 364000 kilometres on the clock, but has been looked after and was an absolute bargain (as long as it doesn't explode in the next 6 months).

I have also owned:

99 323
74 Capella (My first car)

I'm guessing I will be here frequently as I work through a myriad of small problems with my car.

G'day Sefton6, it is a bit slow here in the 929 forum these days. Seems people are trading up or getting rid of their 929s, which is a **** shame :(

You've got a nice looking car there, would love to see more pics :)

Extractors would be better than the standard manifold. I looked into this myself and found that they will have to be custom made, as with many things for the HCs, not much of anything available off the shelf when it comes to mods.

Not long after I bought my car I replaced the exhaust with a 2.5" full custom job, including cat, resonator and stainless muffler, designed to breath as best as possible, sounds pretty schmick too :) At the time I was quoted $1200 for the extractors, so I had to give them a miss, unfortunately.

I got the bits made up from a specialist exhaust mob in Ingleburn, NSW, and the same system is still going strong today, ten years later :)

I can't quite tell, but it looks as if the bonnet trim is missing from your car. If it is, there's a HC hardtop series 2 at PicknPayless in Blacktown which still has the complete grill and headlights as of last Thursday the 9th of April when I was there. I pinched the rear calipers to upgrade mine to series 2 brakes. I also nabbed the visors and rear carpet, I left the front carpet as it had a slight bit of damage on the driver's side.

That info is only any good to you though if you're able to get to Blacktown as of course, with PicknPayless, you have to remove anything yourself :p

Good to see another proud 929 owner on here. I hope you never get tired of it :)

Cheers,
Alan

So I've had my 369000k 929 for nearly a year now - I've changed the valve gasket cover and just changed the heater hose at the front of the engine - that was a mammoth task. Had to take out the radiator cover, take off the fan, belt tensioner and other bits and pieces just to get to the bottom of the hose.

Anyway - next job is the dizzy, which was a grotty as bugger. Gave it a clean, but will need to be replaced. I think I have to take the fan off again to get to the bottom screw of that.

Anyone know any shortcuts? :D
