I'm new to the forum. I'm looking at buying a 1 owner 2001 Mazda B2300 2.3l with a Automatic. It has a blown engine at 55,000 miles. Are these trucks worth having? I think I see the correct engines on eBay for less than a $1000. What are the cons of owning one of these trucks? It's very nice inside and out. I'm not buying to resell, I'm looking for a run around truck for trips to the landfill. It's going to actually be a 3rd vehicle for me and my wife.
Thanks for the advice.

I bought my 2004 B2300 brand new. Still have it. I've owned 150 plus vehicles. Every make, model, etc..GM AMC FORD FIAT ALFA VW etc etc etc. This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. If you find a good motor for this 2001 snag it up and let your wife enjoy.

Here are some of the reasons why you should not purchase it:
  1. Engine Failure / Loss Of Timing1 complaints at an average of 71,261 miles in the 2006 Mazda B2300.
  2. Slapping Noise1 complaints at an average of 150,000 miles in the 2002 Mazda B2300.
  3. Transmission Jerks And Slips2 complaints at an average of 20,100 miles in the 2004 Mazda
You should probably just buy a Ford Ranger.
Moving on, I was wondering if there's anyone here who has a
Retrax bed cover on their truck? I am planning to purchase a RetraxONE MX Tonneau Cover for my husband's 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.
