Hi all,
On my 2002 B2500, the pipe that runs from the power steering reservoir, to the steering box / rack , goes past the rack, all the way to the front cross member , double back on its self and back up to the rack. Could I just cut out most of this seemingly pointless pipe and shorten it ? Its leaking down towards the cross member. Thanks.

That loop of metal pipe functions as a cooler, to cool the power steering fluid. So considered necessary. So likely a Mazda dealer or Ford Ranger dealer replacement part.

If not available new these days, try parts yards or take yours out and have it repaired.
