My abs light has been on for sometime but my brakes were working fine despite that and there's a clicking sound when pressing them. So a few days ago I was riding down the street went to come to a stop, press the brake and at first it acted as if it was going to stop normally then the pedal slowly begin to go to the floor. Can anyone take an educated guess as to what my issue is?
Was this issue ever resolved? I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute that I love, love, love. I'm the only owner. It has nearly 200k miles. Over the past year I've had some issues similar to the one you described, but my ABS light never came on. Yesterday, I was driving and the brakes really were not stopping the vehicle like they should. My brake! light is on now -- that's new. It's been looked at by mechanics but never properly diagnosed or fixed.
