Good evening

Im Steyn. I am a wannabe mechanic, only manages to take stuff apart. The reassemble part is still a major mystery to me

Driving a 2001 Mazda Drifter SLX, 2x4, 2.6liter petrol engine, 12V, single overhead cam. Can anybody please explain to me how I must align the crankshaft pulley. cam gear and distributor for this engine? I see on the cap of the cam is a little arrow pointing to the cam gear. When the line on the cam gear lines up with this arrow, the TDC of the crank pulley does not line up at all. Only when the keyhole of the cam aligns with the arrow on the cam cap, then the tdc on the crank pulley lines up. Can somebody maybe draw or send me a picture of what it should look like. This is obvious to get the timing sorted out. Much appreciated
