Hi! I have a beginner question. I have a lowered, manual, 86 b2000 on 16" wheels and 205/40 tires. My problem is that I'm going 52mph in 5th gear at 3k RMPS. I live in the city and drive about 30 miles on the interstate daily. How much is too much for these trucks?

They can handle 3000 rpm's with no problems. Most of the factory tachometers show a redline at around 5500 rpms......and a few show a redline of 6000 rpms. Not sure which models had which tachs.

Look on EBAY to see some of the pics of the Dash Tachs for these trucks.......bottom line is.....if your not losing oil, you can turn these B2000 (FE engine) engines up to 4 & 5 thousand rpms with no issues.
