DIY- How to: Remove + Install/Replace Belt Tensioner on 2.5L 4-cylinder engine 2014 to 2020 Mazda 6, 3, CX-5

When you accelerate does your car make a squeaking sound? If so, then most likely your belt tensioner has gone bad and the belt is now slipping making that sound or the bearing on the tension pulley has gone bad. You will see the part is all greasy due to the leaked oil in the shock and it will be covered in dirt that has stuck to the oil.

In this video, I’ll show you how to spot the bad belt tensioner, remove and install a new one.

I used the OEM part: Mazda part number: PE03-15-980C
you can also use after market parts, but please make sure that its the right fit for you vehicle Amazon.com: TUCAREST 39390 (For 2.0L (1988cc)/2.5L;ENG. DESG:SKYACTIV) Drive Belt Tensioner Pulley Assembly Fit For 12-18 Mazda 3/14-21 Mazda 6 CX-5/16-21 CX-3 CX-9 MX-5 [# PE03-15-980A] : Automotive
