I'm installing a new oil pump. The old pump didn't have a gasket and the new one only came with the o-ring. Do I just use RTV to seal around the oil pump? If not, what keeps it from leaking?

Yes......on the B2000 and B2200 engines, just use Ultra Grey RTV after cleaning both surfaces good, to eliminate all traces of oil.......same with the oil pan. DO NOT use an Oil Pan Gasket.......Mazda did not use one, but every gasket manufacturer makes one for these engines! And if you use an Oil Pan Gasket, your engine is just about guaranteed to leak oil!

Thanks a bunch, sir. My son just bought this truck and he had to put a gal a week of oil. No ultra grey RTV behind the pump and it had a gasket under the pan. Makes sense!!! I appreciate your help and response.
