Just bought some HKS 540cc injectors for this. Still able to be run be the stock ecu, but big enough to easily support 450rwhp or more which should get me well into the 11's.
Should be a good starting point until i can get an emanage ultimate for it.

Just pulled the motor out to get some forged pistons and rods - started getting a bit down on compression in a few cylinders.

Will get the engine bay and entire car painted at the same time :)

Need to update my thread when I the re-assembly stage.

Keep with the updates as they're motivating me to get off my arse :D

Will be a weapon with some boost in it. Pretty proven 1UZ combos getting around these days too, so a lot of the homework is done.

Ive moved a little closer to my brother and they're at me constantly to get this going so should happen pretty quick now.
One of the my daily drivers is currently for sale to fund the 929 :)

Nah, not yet. I spoke to 3 different engineers about it and they all said they are not need for a mod plate because the engine is the same capacity. Once its on the road ill look into it more. Will prob just end up with better quality rotors and pads.

Ha ha, nah. The lawn mowers a beast though, needed its own plates.

I finished off the intercooler today. Did the final fit on all the pipes, mounted and wired the larger pump, and filled it with water. Was a prick to fill. Ended up having to tap a hole in the top of the radiator for it to remove all the air locks.

Nah no pics worth taking at the moment. Upgraded the intercooler to single pass with 1" lines and 80l/hr pump, but none of it can be seen at all.

Its so close, i just got to get going on it. Seems like I'm always busy. I seriously only have to get the speedo working (still), find out why the check engine light is on, and tidy the car up and check with condition of the brakes and renew as necessary.

I've started messing around with the Patrol again too. Wanting to turn its 132rwkw into something bigger with a larger pump. Stupid distractions.

Haha i know how it goes with other toys... Whats holding you up on the spedo?
Mines not plugged into the dash yet - can you just push the cable up behind the steering column of does the dash need to come out? Think i'm just short on cable length...

Also if you're going to be spending money renewing the brakes might only cost a little more to do the FD upgrade...?

The OEM Luce brakes did scare me a little at anything over 100kms/h

Mines an electronic speedo. I can get a signal from the gearbox no worries, but be buggered if i can get the speedo to read anything. Probably just have to buy a proper signal converter rather then messing around building my own.

How well sorted out is the FD brake upgrade now?

I took out the mechanical spedo drive from the Mazda gearbox and it fit into the toyota box which was also digital like yours... The spedo drives just wind/screw out... easy.

I've been running the FD brakes for years now... all good, nothing left to sort?
I'm going to upgrade my master cylinder and brake bias but that's because i'm being really fussy

Oh right, what needs to be changed to fit the FD brakes?

Good to know about the speed sender. I was stupid enough to not pull the speed sender out of the mazda box before i dumped it, so will have to track down another one. Will be sweet if it fits in the toyota box. Will be problem solved.

As the HC has rotors that are part of the hub compared to the floating hat style of the FD.

Pretty much machine the HC rotors off the hub and machine in a hub locator ring.
swap the hubs left to right so that the callipers mount towards the front of the car not the back
for clearance.

machine a little off the calliper mount and then make the bracket.

you will need longer wheel studs as it will push the wheel out by 7mm or so.

The shop that did it for me specialised in race car fabrication and knocked it up in half a day
