I realize I have one hose left that isn't original so at this point I'll just grab whichever one I don't have.

Now, its time to take the engine off the stand but honestly, I took a lot of the intake etc. off when taking it out.
Going back in, I am going to follow the book, up to the point of leaving the exhaust manifold off. I feel it will just be easier to align the exhaust downpipe etc. once the engine back in the truck. Please tell me if I am totally wrong here.

Next question is I don't have the all stock mounting points on my engine. the Front Hanger was there but the rear was not on my motor. So i have my tilt arm hooked in 4 sections. 2 exhaust manifold bolts, 1 rear intake manifold bolt and the OG. front hanger. See the attached video link. What do you all think? Last thing I need is to drop my rebuilt motor! LOL

Right?!?? It’s about time…

so I planned on doing tomorrow, but my wife broke her leg tonight. So we’ll be at the podiatrist tomorrow getting it set..

Ugh. If it’s not one thing, it’s another…

Broken leg ?? As Groucho would say: "that's the lamest excuse I've ever heard !!!!"

Way back in 1985, at Christmas at her family home, Mrs. Cusser slipped and broke her foot. Upon her return, she asked if I was the first "casted gal" I'd bedded (well, actually she was the second, in 1979 girlfriend broke her arm and had a fiberglass cast, and I told her because I don't lie). When folks asked when she'd get her cast off, Mrs. Cusser said I was her cast-off.

Thank you AB… we’re off to the podiatrist tomorrow to figure what kind of cast etc she’s getting. We’re just hoping it doesn’t need surgery. We have travel plans Xmas week.
Hopefully I’ll have time for the truck this weekend. Cross those fingers!

OMG you are so right. And we just got back from the doc…. She broke her foot better than I broke that motor… it’s full on surgery and pins and screws and the whole works. Its gonna be a long road.

So I’ll have time after all to work on the motor as she’ll be laid up in bed all day recouping….

Make sure they use metric screws, as you already have metric tools....

Hey team!
Roy, to answer your question, no, but I am making extremely slow progress. Life just keeps getting in the way.
Wife's leg is healing VERY nicely so thats good.
Kids Mustang Clutch is finally addressed. P.S. Don't put on long tube headers on 03 mustang if you EVER want to do the clutch yourself... just an FYI.
Now its work getting in the way AND my F350 failed safety inspection for some lights and the parking brake not holding on a hill. My backing plates rusted out and I ******* engineered a fix to hold the parking brake shoes that obviously didn't work. It has taken 2 weeks and 6 different orders to find the right backing plates for an '11 F350... I cannot believe how hard it was... note. Don't search on Model/year or even with the VIN... Search on "speed sensor". Somehow that did the trick.
Its a long story.

Any hoo.... I am a glutton for punishment so instead of just stabbing the engine in, I decided to do a quick and dirty respray of the engine bay... adding weeks to my project. I really am my own worst enemy.
I think I am going to end up painted everything. Once the engine is in and it moves under its own power, I will take it to the car wash again. do another round of hardcore pressure washing. Then its off with the other fender, doors, front bumper and I'm going to rust prevent, clean, and coat everything in black, then figure out what color the truck should be.

Its not done but here's some shots of the meager progress. I currently have all the loose brackets on the floor of the garage getting painted for reassembly.

Yes, happy wife..... no time to work on the truck... LOL No, but seriously... happy life.
Still though, the wife has already "assigned" me bathroom remodel projects. I swear I am never going to get this truck done! 😁
Thankfully, its just new cabinets and wallpaper. NO PLUMBING! (or at least, no plumbing changes.)

That is looking really good Roverjosh! Glad that the wife's leg is doing good also! Keep her happy!
Question for you Axel. I am in the process of rebuilding a 2600i and I noticed in your build pictures that you set up timing gears and chains without the head on. is this the easiest way to do it or maybe only way. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m assuming that I will have to release the tensioner in order to put the cam gear on Once i have the head installed.
Also one more question. On top of the block between block and head is what seems to be a reducer for the oil going to head, which I’m assuming that it gives it more pressure. There appears to be two orings that need to be replaced. Are these orings in the head gasket kit? If not where can I get them?
Thanks for your help.
